Nope! Where's that famous Minnesota snow? Even if there were little snow that season, the grazing cattle would have made a sizeable dent in the harvest residue on the ground. Finally, the Winter Solstice (around December 22) has the sun rising at its most southerly point, rather than due east as in Charles Beck's artwork.
