QUESTION:

Hi Cowboy Bob.

I have 2 Hamsters I bought yesterday and they are so cute. But there's one problem. They're constantly fighting over territory. I got them at the same time and at a young age to try and prevent it, but it happend anyway. They are both males and are not full grown. Can you PLEASE try to help me. I'm out of solutions and I found you. If you know "Anything" at all, please E-mail me back ASAP if you can.

- A. B. and Melvin and Wally

ANSWER:

I'm afraid that I don't have a lot of experience with hamsters... it's hard to find saddles that fit them, and they're mighty difficult to lasso! The folks who DO know about them tell me you'd better get another cage QUICK. You probably have a couple of Syrian Hamsters, and they will not usually live with another past 8-10 weeks of age. Therefore, it is important that they be housed separately since serious fighting -- even death -- can occur if more than one Syrian hamster is kept in a cage.

I hope this helps.

Happy Horse Training!
