QUESTION:

Bob, I'm a new rider and just love to ride the trails. I have heard that wearing a pair of panty hose will make the ride more comfortable. Like no uncomfortable rubbing.

Also, is there a basic book for trail riding, the little tricks of the trade and beginners equipment?

Thanks for your help.

ANSWER:

I'm not given to wearin' pantyhose myself, but from what the ladies tell me, somebody's probably pullin' your leg. Nylon hose tends to be a lot hotter than the cotton of your jeans, so just stick to denim.

Follow the rules for good riding posture (heels down, chest pushed slightly forward, ride on the balls of your feet, etc.) as well as the other tips in Q & A #2 -- "Don't you ever get sore when you ride for a long time?" (http://www.lemen.com/qa2.html) and you shouldn't have a problem with "uncomfortable rubbing."

You'll find several good books for beginning riders in the book section of my Trading Post!

Happy trails to you too! ... and God bless!
